This delicious and caffeinated Espresso Martini Cocktail is a great after-dinner drink. It’s also a perfect happy hour cocktail when you need a little pick-me-up.
For an extra special dessert course, serve with a light, complimentary dessert like tiramisu.
Tasty, edgy, sophisticated—three awesome reasons why it’s one of the most popular coffee cocktails in the world.
Why do we garnish an Espresso Martini with 3 coffee beans?
Have you ever wondered why there are always three coffee beans garnishing your espresso martini? This is the cocktail’s trademark and are said to represent health, wealth and happiness.
Alternatively you can garnish coffee powder, grated chocolate or cocoa, they all works as well.
How do you make an espresso martini frothy?
To get the lovely signature frothy layer on the surface of your Espresso Martini Cocktail, you need to use real espresso coffee from a proper coffee machine that gives you a nice crema.
I did notice, the more you shake, the more micro foam builds up, giving you that velvety froth when you pour it into your glass.
Who invented the drink?
Did you know, the now-classic drink was invented by British bartender Dick Bradsell at Fred’s Club in London. Legend has it that a “top model” asked for a drink that would “wake me up and f**k me up” at the same time. Bradsell complied, mixing vodka with espresso and coffee liqueur, and the Espresso Martini was born.
